ZBA inspects and reviews buildings for zoning compliance. The board regulates the rules behind what you can build and where you can build in Boston.

National Park Services
Dorchester Heights adds a valuable dimension to the Park. Its historical significance and the gradual development of the surrounding community, vividly reflects the history and growth of the city of Boston. With the fortification of it’s summit in 1776, Dorchester Heights became the site of one of the United State’s major victories against British rule and demonstrated the integral connection between the S. Boston peninsula and her neighboring community.
Dorchester Heights Homeowners Handbook.
Published in 2001 by the City of Boston Landmarks commission in partnership with the Dorchester Heights Association, this handbook provides a good historical overview of the neighborhood surrounding Dorchester Heights, and it’s architectural significance.
City of Boston - Office of Neighborhood Services
The city’s Office of Neighborhood Services is an important resource for the community as it provides updates on development and events within the neighborhood and the city as a whole. You can also subscribe to a regular newsletter that is emailed out by the neighborhood liaison to the Mayor’s office.
